Participating in therapy is a powerful step toward growth and positive change. Our goal is to help you address issues that have caused challenges in the past and overcome barriers that have impacted your happiness and well-being.
Therapy can sometimes bring up painful emotions, intense physical sensations, or unresolved issues, and there may be times when symptoms feel more intense before improvement occurs. However, this is a normal part of the healing process.
You have the right to ask your counsellor questions about your treatment at any time. If we determine that you could benefit from a service we cannot provide, we will discuss your options to ensure you can make an informed decision. This may include recommendations for a medical exam, psychiatric evaluation, or referral to another programme or service.
All counselling services are offered free of charge to residents of the Cayman Islands.
Persons struggling with acute symptoms of depression, PTSD, suicidal ideations, or self-harm should access Emergency Psychiatic Services at the hospital or call 911
