History

The Counselling Centre is an outpatient counselling practice located in George Town, Grand Cayman. For over thirteen years, we have proudly served the residents of the Cayman Islands, offering professional and compassionate support to individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. Our services address concerns across the lifespan, from young children to older adults. We are committed to empowering individuals and families by building on their strengths and, when appropriate, collaborating with other professionals involved in their care.

Many clients seek our services to enhance their well-being and learn strategies for managing life’s challenges. Our experienced clinicians provide effective treatment for a wide range of emotional and behavioural concerns, including:

  • Relationship issues and family conflict
  • Parenting challenges or child behaviour problems
  • Trauma (emotional, physical, sexual, or neglect)
  • Marriage preparation and enrichment
  • Crisis intervention
  • Domestic violence
  • Addiction
  • Grief and loss
  • Mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, eating disorders)
  • Anger and stress management
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Coping with chronic illness or health concerns
  • Adjustment and life transitions

Our approach to counselling integrates a variety of therapeutic methods, recognizing that no single treatment works for everyone. Depending on your needs, your clinician may recommend individual, couples, or family counselling. For young children, we may use specialized approaches such as art or play therapy.

We also offer therapy groups focused on substance misuse or abuse and may suggest participation in support groups or referrals to additional services to best support your journey toward healing and growth.
